Believing the Promise (Galatians 3:15-18)
August 25, 2013 Preacher: Bob DeWaay Series: Galatians
Scripture: Galatians 3:15–18
This sermon is about understanding and believing the promises of God. The key promise is the Seed promise given in Genesis 3:15 and again to Abraham in Genesis 17:4-8. The fulfillment of this promise is Jesus the Messiah. This section also teaches us the distinction between Law and Promise. We learn the important, Biblical principle of corporate solidarity, either in Adam or in Christ. The Mosaic covenant was provisional and cannot be trusted for justification before God. The promises of God that apply to us, when believed, keep us and comfort us. All Christians are blood bought children of God and should be treated with love and respect. We also discuss how only God can be trusted as the true Promise Keeper. God cannot lie and He has spoken in Scripture, once for all.
