Scripture: Mark 12:28–34
In Mark 12:28-34 we witness Jesus dashing the hopes of a Scribe who has deceived himself into thinking that he can keep the law. This Scribe rightly knew that obedience to God's law which requires loving God and neighbor is more important than the sacrifices offered in the temple. What the man failed to realize, however, is that no one can love God and neighbor as they are called to do in the Scriptures. Come hear afresh why we need a Savior who can do for us what we cannot do for ourselves.
