Salvation Is Found by Believing the Promises of God (Romans 4:13-15)

May 8, 2016 Preacher: Eric Douma

Scripture: Romans 4:13-15

In Romans 4:13-16 Paul explains how God’s promises will be received by faith, not by works of the law. Paul argues that if the promise of being heirs of the world came through the keeping of the law, the promise would be abolished. He argues that this is the case because the law only brings about wrath since no one can completely obey the law. In our application we address how the reception of God’s promises entails not only believing the promises initially in our justification, but it also entails us believing the promises for our continued sanctification. Come and hear why the Christian walk centers on trusting in what God does for us.
