Due to illness affecting Bob DeWaay's voice this past Sunday, a DVD from Gospel of Grace Fellowship's historical files was shown at the worship service.
This sermon was originally preached in March of 2009. In it we see the amazing love of God in reconciling sinners to Himself through Christ Jesus. The person we know as the prodigal, dishonored his father in every imaginable way. In his rebellion he left the entire village and progressively went to the very bottom of disgrace and shame. In this sermon we see how horrible sin is and how amazingly gracious God is. We are called to come to Christ was willing to bear the shame that we deserved. We also learn an important warning against self-rerighteouness.
