Paul Defines God's Elect (Romans 9:24-29)

September 3, 2017 Preacher: Eric Douma Series: Romans

Scripture: Romans 9:24-29

In Romans 9:24-29 Paul defines God’s elect as being comprised of both Jews and Gentiles. He cites several passages from both Hosea and Isaiah to prove that Gentiles would be included in God’s salvific plan, and that only a remnant within Israel would be saved. Paul’s inclusion of Gentiles within God’s elect may sound completely normal to Christians living nearly 2,000 years after the founding of the church, but we must understand how revolutionary this was in Paul’s day. Come and hear the surprising evidence Paul supplies for Gentile inclusion into God’s elect.
