What Purpose Does the Law Serve? (1 Timothy 1:5-11)
October 28, 2018 Preacher: Eric Douma Series: First and Second Timothy
Scripture: 1 Timothy 1:5-11
In this message taken from 1 Timothy 1:6-11, we focus on what the proper use of the law is according to the apostle Paul. We explore in this message how the law of Moses, as a binding legal code, was designed to point people to Christ as the remedy to their sin nature. The heretics in Ephesus, on the other hand, were pointing people to the law of Moses as the remedy to their sin nature. This is why Paul explains the law is designed not for the believer (the one who found the remedy) but to the unbeliever who needs the remedy. Come and hear for yourself what the law of Moses was designed to accomplish.
