The Gospel: Grounds for Godly Living Part 3 (1 Timothy 3:16)
May 5, 2019 Preacher: Eric Douma Series: First and Second Timothy
Scripture: 1 Timothy 3:16
In this message taken from 1 Timothy 3:16 we examine the last two lines of the Christ Hymn. Here Paul explains that there are ramifications to Christ’s victory in heaven and on earth alluded to in the previous two lines of the hymn. Christ is “believed on in the world” and “taken up in glory.” We examine how belief in Christ is only possible for those enabled by the supernatural power of God. This further proves God’s victorious work in Christ as Jesus was not just “proclaimed among the nations,” but also believed on in the world. We also examine how Christ’s ascension into heaven was a declaration of His Lordship over all. Come and hear for yourself why the belief that Christ was glorified is essential for your own godly living during times of persecution.
