In this message taken from 1 Timothy 6:14-15a we examine the imminent nature of Christ’s future “appearing” because it serves to motivate believers to godly living. In this message I explain how Paul’s usage of the Greek term for epiphany was deliberate as he sought to counter the false gospel of Emperor worship in Asia Minor. We conclude that in every generation counterfeits to the good news of Christ are present and must be fought.

I also spend time in defining the doctrine of imminence regarding Christ’s second advent. I define imminence and then show biblical data that proves Christ could return at any moment. Finally we learn what it means to live “alert and sober” lives in light of Christ’s imminent return. Come and hear for yourself what is required for the imminent arrival of Jesus Christ.
