The Role of Christ’s Virgin Birth in Our Salvation: Matthew 1:21-25
September 5, 2021 Preacher: Eric Douma Series: Matthew
Scripture: Matthew 1:21-25
In this message based on Matthew 1:21-25 we examine how Jesus is the fulfillment of Isaiah’s virgin birth prophecy found in Isaiah 7:14.
I demonstrate that Jesus alone fits all of the data concerning what was revealed about the Immanuel child in the book of Isaiah. We also wrestle with whether Isaiah 7:14 should be regarded as a typological or a direct prophecy. Finally, I show through Scripture why it was necessary for the Son of God to become flesh through the virgin birth in order that we might have the forgiveness of sins.
