Christ Will Wipe Away Our Tears: Matthew 2:16-18
October 31, 2021 Preacher: Eric Douma Series: Matthew
Scripture: Matthew 2:16-18
In this message based on Matthew 2:16-18 we learn how Matthew understood the murder of children in Bethlehem by Herod as a fulfillment of Jeremiah 31:15. We learn that Matthew understood Jeremiah 31:15, where Rachel metaphorically was weeping from her grave in Ramah over the exiles taken into Babylonian captivity, as an event that would be reversed by the person and work of Jesus Christ. The weeping of more Israelite mothers in Bethlehem over the murder of their babies was an event that Matthew understood as one day coming to an end when Jesus restores the kingdom to Israel. In this message I prove that every believer in Christ will be a partaker in the glorious kingdom that Christ will establish at His return. Come and hear for yourself how Messiah will one day remove all the tears of His people.
