Jesus: Rejected by Men, Chosen by God: Matthew 12:15-21
July 7, 2024 Preacher: Eric Douma Series: Matthew
Scripture: Matthew 12:15-21
In this message, taken from Matthew 12:15-21, we learn from Matthew that Jesus is the fulfillment of Isaiah 42:1-4. Matthew sees in Christ a suffering servant who is merciful and meek in the face of great opposition from the Pharisees.
From this we learn to be long-suffering and merciful as well. We also learn that although Jesus was rejected by the Pharisees, He was God the Father’s chosen servant to bring salvation. Come and hear for yourself why we should all share God the Father’s assessment of Jesus rather than the Pharisee’s wayward assessment.
