An Evil Generation Seeks for a Sign: Matthew 12:38-42
September 8, 2024 Preacher: Eric Douma Series: Matthew
Scripture: Matthew 12:38-42
In this message, taken from Matthew 12:38-42, we learn that God will not provide any signs for people living during the church age except the “sign of Jonah.”
The sign of Jonah is a reference to the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day, and the only way people during the church age know this sign is through the Scriptures.
We therefore conclude that God has given people the Scriptures to believe, not signs and miracles. This should move all believers to shun the desire to seek signs and conjure up miracles and to be devoted to preaching the Scriptures instead.
