Lovingly Stand Firm in the Faith

In this sermon we cover five imperatives in 1 Corinthians 13:13 as well as the instruction to do everything in love. The other issue was the instruction to treat godly leaders and those who work with them with support and respect.

We take each of the five imperatives, define each by explaining the Greek text behind them, and give cross references for each.

In the process of detailing these imperatives for godly attitudes and actions, we explain how the presence of commands in the New Testament is not works righteousness, but the means the Holy Spirit uses to change us and keep us out of error.

We are to “stay alert” because Christians are always being tempted and attacked. God uses such teachings from the Bible to motivate us through the indwelling Spirit to live up to God’s calling on our lives.
