The Narrative Unity of Luke/Acts as shown in Peter's Sermon

Speaker: Bob DeWaay Series: Acts of the Apostles Scripture: Acts 2:22–2:23

We discuss the implications of Luke/Acts being a two volume work, showing how Luke uses repeated themes and reliable witnesses to reveal his meaning. These themes include repentance for the forgiveness (release) of sins. We also see how God's purposes and human responsibility intersect as revealed in Acts 2:22-23. God's purpose is His eternal purpose as it says in Ephesians. The centrality of the bodily resurrection of Jesus is shown by its prominence in the sermons and speeches of Acts. We also show, from Peter's sermon, the significance of Psalm 16 as a Messianic prophecy.
