The author of Hebrews rebukes his readers for not desiring full blown teaching about the High Priestly ministry of Christ. The writer assumes his readers are well trained and capable of learning. But they have become dull. We must draw near to God on His term through Christ, not through religious icons. We discuss both propitiation and expiation as revealed in Hebrews. The cleansing of the conscience, once for all, is provided by Christ. There is one High Priest, Jesus, and then the priesthood of every believer.
