Introduction to Ephesians, Part 2 (Ephesians 1:1)
Scripture: Ephesians 1:1–6:24
In our second week introducing Paul's epistle to the Ephesians, we consider the letter's recipients and destination. With respect to its destination, we address an important textual variant in some detail since some of our earliest manuscripts of Paul's letters are missing the words "in Ephesus" (Eph 1:1). Having concluded that Paul did indeed write to the Ephesians, we will discuss in a future Sunday school the character of Ephesus and its significance for interpreting Paul's letter.
