In His message to Sardis, Jesus rebukes the former church for being spiritually dead. Their spiritual death was caused by leaving the doctrines of Christ for the teachings of the pagan world. We learn in this lesson that a true believer must never depart from the gospel and doctrines that saved them. We also learn that true believers in Christ will never lose their salvation even if they are mistreated and lose everything in this world.
