Peter Confronted by the Sanhedrin (Acts 4:1-8)
Speaker: Bob DeWaay Series: Acts of the Apostles Scripture: Acts 4:1-8
This narrative is about how the church grew despite serious opposition from the Jewish leadership. What these leaders objected to most was the preaching of Christ and the resurrection. We discuss the efficacy of gospel preaching to cause the church to grow as God wills. We show that only some hear the inner call of the gospel, believe, and are thereby added to the church. The work of the Spirit is to cause us to be witnesses of the gospel in the manner that Peter was.
