Hard Hearts and Corporate Solidarity (Acts 7:51-53)
Scripture: Acts 7:51-53
We examine a number of New Testament passages that teach that the church is the temple of the Holy Spirit and is Christ’s “house” (Heb. 3:6). Some passages speak in the plural about the congregation as God’s temple. In one case the believer’s body is called a temple of the Holy Spirit. We are obligated to treat God’s dear saints properly lest we come under judgment. Christians are told to avoid immorality on the ground that their bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. God dwells in us and in our midst. A physical building is never the “house of God” under the New Covenant.
