This story is again about the gospel going to an unexpected person. An angel directs Philip to go to a remote location. We see that in Luke/Acts angels are associated with the coming of Messianic salvation. In that day, Ethiopia was considered to be “the end of the earth.” This shows that Acts 1:8 is being fulfilled. We discuss the doctrine of providence in regard to the spread of the gospel. God uses newly saved people to spread the gospel.
