Paul’s Life and Apostleship (Acts 9:23-24)

February 19, 2017 Speaker: Bob DeWaay Series: Acts of the Apostles

Scripture: Acts 9:23-24

As we finish this section we discuss the three years Paul spent in Arabia that are not narrated in Acts but mentioned in Galatians. We look at evidence that Jesus met Paul tangibly and taught him, qualifying him to be an apostle. Furthermore, Paul is the very last apostle Jesus appeared to according to 1Corinthians 15. Luke uses a Greek word that denotes fulfillment of God’s purposes here in Acts 9 about Saul in Damascus. The issue of God’s visitation as revealed in Luke/Acts also is discussed. Jesus’ reign comes onto the scene of history and unexpected people enter while the Jewish leadership does not recognize the day of visitation. All who have entered into the light of Christ have the forgiveness of sins.
