The Relationship Between Labor Pains and the Day of the Lord
Speaker: Eric Douma Series: Eschatology Scripture: Isaiah 13:6-8, Isaiah 26:16-18, Matthew 24:8, 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3
In this message we focus on the significance of the concept of labor pains in both the Old and New Testament. We show how the labor pains are associated with both the 70th week of Daniel and the wrath associated with the Day of the Lord.
We conclude that since the labor pains are associated with both the 70th week of Daniel and the Day of the Lord, the two must be synonymous. Since the Day of the Lord is associated with the wrath of God, the inception of Daniel’s 70th week must include that wrath.
Since believers are promised exemption from God’s wrath (Rom. 5:9;1 Thess. 1:10, 5:9; Rev. 3:10), we can conclude the rapture must occur prior to the 70th week of Daniel.
