Popular revivalism often makes claims of special visitations or habitations of God at certain locations. Corollary to this is the implication that God’s manifest presence in such cases leads to miracles, conversions, and heightened intimacy with God.

People will travel at great expense to be part of such happenings. I claim God’s revealed purpose is that His salvation is to go to the ends of the earth rather than be confined at a place like the temple in Jerusalem as it was during a previous era.
