Baptism: Our Identity in Christ Examining the Four Different Views: (Reformed) (Pt 4)
Speaker: Eric Douma Series: Baptism
In the message today we continue to wrestle with the Reformed tradition of baptism. We explain how the Reformed tradition believes that infants who have not yet been added to the New Covenant by faith should still be baptized if they belong to believing parents.
We show that baptism should only belong to those who are truly partakers of the New Covenant by faith in Christ. We use Hebrews 8 to prove that the New Covenant is different than the Old Covenant in that some members of the Old Covenant community of Israel were not believers. The New Covenant, in contrast, is comprised of all who know the Lord Jesus by faith (Heb. 8:11).
