The First-fruits of the Lord's Provision through Boaz
Speaker: Adam Olean Series: Ruth Scripture: Ruth 2:17–2:23
After completing a full day's work in Boaz's field, Ruth returns to her mother in law, Naomi, with abundant food and grain. Their resultant conversation focuses on the identity of the field's owner who had just shown Ruth such kindness and reveals his role as their kinsman-redeemer.
Naomi, consequently, blesses Boaz and acknowledges the Lord's gracious, faithful provision through him. At the conclusion of the barley and wheat harvests, Ruth remains steadfast in her oath to the Lord to abide with Naomi in life and death (Block 150).
