The Law/Torah “Repudiated,” “Replaced,” and “Reappropriated” (Part 6)

December 9, 2015 Speaker:

This week we learn how the head of a unbelieving, sinful, rebellious humanity—Adam—by a single transgression, introduced the reign of sin, condemnation, and death to all of humanity spreading over all of the earth—and how the head of a believing, righteous, redeemed humanity—Jesus Christ—by a single righteous deed, introduced God’s reign of grace, righteousness, and life to a new humanity culminating in the new heavens and the new earth (Rom 5:12–21). We also begin to explore implications of this new reign for how Christians should think about their relations to grace, sin, and the Law/Torah in light of their new life and freedom in Christ, their new Lord and King (Rom 6).
