Messiah’s Lineage Matters, Ours Doesn’t: Matthew 1:1-17
August 8, 2021 Preacher: Eric Douma Series: Matthew
Scripture: Matthew 1:11-17
In this message taken from Matthew 1:1-17 we learn of God’s power and sovereignty as Matthew demonstrates that Jesus Christ came from the lineage of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah, and David. I explain in this message how Matthew includes Gentile women in his genealogy to prepare the reader for God saving unlikely people throughout his gospel. I also explain why Christ’s genetic genealogy mattered, but ours doesn’t. I believe this serves as a powerful rebuttal to Marxists teaching Critical Race Theory in our culture today. Come and hear for yourself the majesty of God’s powerful hand who brought Messiah into the world through the exact lineage He had foretold.
