Believers Will Confess Christ: Matthew 10:32-33
February 11, 2024 Preacher: Eric Douma Series: Matthew
Scripture: Matthew 10:32-33
In this message, taken from Matthew 10:32-33, we examine Christ’s call for believers to confess His name before unbelievers. We learn that our confession of Christ with our mouths is evidence that we have possession of saving faith in our hearts.
We wrestle in this message with how a true believer like the apostle Peter could deny Christ three times after first confessing His name (cf. Matt. 16:16-17; 26:34). We learn that our salvation is not based on the greatness of our confession of the Savior, but our salvation is based on the greatness of the Savior of our confession.
We finally talk about the need to persevere in confessing Christ and how every Christian should live to hear Christ confess us before the heavenly Father in glory.
