Godly Leaders Chosen (Acts 6:1-7)
Speaker: Bob DeWaay Series: Acts of the Apostles Scripture: Acts 6:1-7
The early church needed to organize to care for their widows. The text says that some “grumbled.” We see this same idea found elsewhere in both the Old and New Testaments. It connotes spiritual danger. In Acts, God provided servants to care for the widows to avert this danger. We need to thank God for His provision. Whatever duty the Lord gives us, we need His grace and wisdom to fulfill it in a godly way. In Luke/Acts, when the Holy Spirit is said to come upon someone, they speak reliably for God. We also have a discussion about faith and obedience.
