In this introduction to Proverbs, we examine various parallelisms that Hebrew poetry uses to convey wisdom to the reader. We also begin examining the reason Solomon wrote the book of Proverbs. We learn that the fear of the Lord is directly tied to a person’s faith. If a person really believes in the Lord, they will seek to please the Lord rather than man.
