The Barren Fruit In Israel (Mark 11:12-14)
February 23, 2014 Preacher: Eric Douma Series: Mark
Scripture: Mark 11:12–14
In Mark 11:12-14 we witness Jesus curse a fig tree that had not produced any fruit. We will learn that this is a highly symbolic act which points to the fruitlessness of Israel due to her lack of belief in Jesus as Messiah. We explore in this message both the macro issue of Israel's hardness as well as the individual's culpability in producing fruit. We will also learn that the Bible calls us to bear fruit in both doctrine and deed, but we must realize that this command can only be heeded by those that God graciously saves.
