Do You Have Saving Faith or Mere Speculation? (1 Timothy 1:2-5)
October 7, 2018 Preacher: Eric Douma Series: First and Second Timothy
Scripture: 1 Timothy 1:2-5
We learn in 1 Timothy 1:2-5 how the false teachers in Ephesus where teaching “other doctrines” that led people into vain speculations about the law rather than to faith in Christ. I demonstrate that the timeless principle from this passage is that the people of God will be tempted in every generation to abandon God’s clear revelation for mystery and mere speculations that lead them away from Christ. We learn from both the Old and New Testament that pagans focus on mystery and speculations in order to untether themselves from the true God. Come and hear why we as the people of Christ must focus on what God has revealed and not on mere speculations as the pagan world.
